What a fixed 10 GB plan is

A fixed plan is a set amount of data with a validity window. On vigxo, the per-GB price is shown on every plan, validity starts at the first connection in Japan rather than at purchase, and hotspot is included. A 30-day window covers any trip up to 30 days, so a one-week trip still gets the full 10 GB with room for delays.

The trade-off is simple to state: you choose the amount of data up front, so it helps to know roughly what you use in a day. The next sections are about exactly that.

How to estimate your daily use

Typical-use estimate (maps, messaging, social, some video), about 0.5–0.8 GB a day. Not a vigxo promise; your use will vary.

That figure covers maps, messaging apps, social feeds and a bit of video. Three things push it up: video calls, streaming, and running a hotspot for a laptop. A laptop behaves like a desktop, with larger pages and background updates, so budget more on days you work from it.

The most reliable number is your own. Reset the mobile-data statistics on your phone at the start of a normal week at home, check them seven days later, and divide by seven. Then multiply by the days of your trip and add a little headroom. The data calculator does the same arithmetic from a few questions.

If you expect heavy use

If your own numbers come out well above the estimate, there are two neutral options. One is a larger fixed plan: 20 GB or 50 GB for 30 days, with live prices in the table above. The other is a day-priced product such as Holafly's, under the terms quoted in their box.

Neither is right for everyone. A fixed plan gives you a known amount of data and a known price per GB; a day-priced product is sold by the length of the trip. Your daily use, and how many days you need data for, decide which is the better fit for you.

1. Buy on the web; the install link arrives by email after payment, with a QR code as a fallback.
2. Install before you fly, on Wi-Fi. On iOS 17.4+ and Android 10+ it is one tap.
3. On landing, switch the vigxo line on for data. The 30 days start at the first connection in Japan.
