Fried aubergine rolled around a walnut and garlic paste, topped with pomegranate seeds. The standard opener at any table.

Skewered meat grilled over grapevine cuttings, served with onion and pomegranate. Georgian barbecue, and a social occasion more than a dish.

Churchkhela
Nuts threaded on string and repeatedly dipped in thickened grape must, dried into a candle shape. Sold everywhere and often mistaken by visitors for a candle.
