Get connected

One journey, from start to finish.

There are two key stages: installation (done at home before you travel) and activation (which happens automatically when you land). Here is how it works.

1

Buy

Choose a plan and check out. Your install link and QR code arrive by email in seconds.

2

Install

Install at home over Wi-Fi — tap the link, or scan the QR code — and leave the line switched off. No mobile signal needed.

3

Activate

When you land, turn on data roaming for your vigxo line — you'll be online in about a minute.

4

Top up

Running low on data? Top-up plans can be reloaded from your dashboard in seconds.

Step 0 — check your phone is compatible

To use an eSIM, you need a compatible, network-unlocked phone. You can check yours in seconds.

Installation step by step

On iPhone (iOS)

  1. Open your confirmation email and tap the install link — or go to Settings → Mobile Data → Add eSIM → Use QR Code and scan the QR code from the same email.
  2. Label the plan "vigxo travel" and keep your normal SIM as your default line for calls.
  3. Leave the eSIM switched off until you arrive. When you land, turn ON Data Roaming for the vigxo line.
  4. Set the vigxo line as your Mobile Data line and you'll be online.

On Android

  1. Go to Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add eSIM, then scan the QR code from your email.
  2. Download the profile and name it "vigxo travel".
  3. When you arrive, enable roaming for the vigxo line and set it as your mobile data SIM.
  4. Switch Flight mode on and off once if it doesn't connect within a minute.

If it doesn't connect immediately

  • Data Roaming must be switched ON for the vigxo line — this is completely normal and safe, as it connects to our local partner network rather than your home network provider.
  • It can take a minute or two to find a network when you arrive. Switching Flight mode on and off once can help speed this up.
  • Keep your standard SIM active for calls and texts. vigxo is data-only, so use WhatsApp or FaceTime over your data connection.

What happens to my physical SIM?

It stays active. You keep your number. You will still receive calls and texts (like bank codes) from home. The eSIM is data-only and runs alongside it.

How dual-SIM works abroad

Set your home SIM as the default for Voice and SMS. Set vigxo as your Mobile Data line. Turn Data Roaming OFF on your home line to avoid surprise bills.

Install before or after landing?

Install before you fly. Downloading the eSIM needs an internet connection — activating it does not, as it connects on its own once you land.

How to confirm it worked

After installing, check your device's SIM settings. The new eSIM should be listed as downloaded. Leave it turned off or inactive until you arrive.

The data-roaming toggle

Data Roaming has to be ON for the vigxo line before it will get online. That is safe: it uses our local partner networks. It does not switch roaming on for your home line, and it triggers nothing from your home network provider.

Scanned but nothing connects?

  1. 1. Check that the vigxo line is switched ON.
  2. 2. Verify Data Roaming is ON for the vigxo line.
  3. 3. Make sure vigxo is selected as your active Mobile Data line.
  4. 4. Toggle Flight mode on then off to force a reconnection. Menu layouts differ slightly by phone.
